Manifesto on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Our Voice Work

At Lucentum Productions, we believe in complete transparency. We know that artificial intelligence is becoming more and more common in the audio and voiceover industry, and we understand the concerns this can raise. That’s why we want to make one thing very clear:

We do NOT use AI-generated voices in any of our educational projects.

Every voice you hear in our demos, productions, and commissioned work is performed by real, experienced voice actors. Every voice in our catalog has been recorded by real people—voice artists who feel, understand the nuance of a script, and deliver the emotional connection that only a human being can offer.

We believe deeply in the value of authentic interpretation—in the subtlety of a genuine breath, a well-placed pause, or a smile you can hear without seeing it. The human voice is not just a sound; it’s a tool for communication with soul. And that’s something AI, at least for now, simply cannot replicate with honesty.

Moreover, given the unique nature of educational content—and the expectations of our clients, teachers, and students—we believe that the use of synthetic voices in this context is ethically unacceptable.

We’re also incredibly proud of our actors, directors, and sound engineers—professionals we’ve worked side by side with for over three decades. That’s why we stand by them. All our productions are fully documented and managed following specific project workflows, under the supervision of our Coordination and Operations departments

PREPRODUCTION

The preproduction stage starts with an initial analysis of the prerequisites of the project and clarifies key issues, like the format and specs of the final deliverables, and helps to set the right expectations for us and for our client.

PRODUCTION

The control during production deals with quality of the artistic and technical standards and solves practical issues during production, like undiscovered errors in the manuscript or parts allocated to the wrong voice.

POSTPRODUCTION

A last check, performed by a party not involved in the production deals with the quality of the deliverable from the perspective of the end user and makes sure there are no glitches in the final product.
